What did Sam Thompson have done to his teeth?

First appearing on the reality show Made in Chelsea in 2013, the British public has seen Sam Thompson develop from boy to man throughout his time on our screens.

In his rise to stardom, he’s claimed the thrown of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here (2023), used his status to raise money for charities like Unicef UK and Comic Relief, and now dabbles in hosting UK radio shows, interviewing celebs and spoiling our ears with the latest tunes that week.

Obviously, since he first appeared on TV, he’s changed quite a bit. A lot of this is down to age (and hitting the gym by the looks of things), but his teeth seemed to have changed drastically in the process.

Let’s dig a little deeper.

Sam Thompson’s Teeth: Pre-fame

Being just 21 when he joined the cast of Made in Chelsea, whenever he flashed a grin you could see some gaps between the teeth, varying lengths of tooth, and some minor discolouration. This is pretty normal, but it’s clear he felt like he wanted to make some changes to be camera-ready at all times.

Has Sam Thompson had veneers?

We can only assume that Sam’s newly perfected teeth are down to the help of the popular cosmetic dentistry treatment, veneers.

What are dental veneers?

Veneers are custom shells - made from porcelain or composite - that cover the front surface of the tooth to perfect a range of imperfections. In Sam Thompson’s case, they cover gaps, make a more symmetrical smile, and add a movie star *ding with a boost in brightness.

Camouflaging a natural smile into a flawless one gives patients added self-confidence and improves overall quality of life - making speaking and eating much easier.

Disadvantages of veneers

While veneers offer an A-list smile, they do have their drawbacks, including:

  • Cost
  • Irreversible transformation
  • Damage to enamel
  • Sensitivity
  • Unreliability

When you commit to dental veneers, you’re looking at a pretty big hole in your wallet for something that can remove essential enamel, make eating and drinking hot and cold food difficult, and run the risk of one popping off mid-conversation.

Wouldn’t it be handy if there was a cheaper, more reliable alternative…
