What did Robbie Williams have done to his teeth?

With his new biopic ‘Better Man’ hitting the big screens recently, Robbie Williams has been doing the rounds on chat shows, in magazines, and on social media to promote his new venture.

Better Man takes us through Robbie’s life. Starting with dancing around in his living room to swing singing legends, to his complex relationship with stardom.

The film is a definite must-see, even if you’re not particularly a huge fan of Take That or Robbie’s solo career.

But let’s talk about what we’ve all really come here for. His teeth have seen a massive transformation throughout his life, with his new pearly whites making an appearance on the red carpet of the Golden Globes.

Let’s take a look down memory lane…

Never Forget how things started

Cast your minds back to the early days of Take That. If you weren’t a fan, your mum definitely was.

Robbie was known as the cheeky member of the boyband, having a slight edge over the others. This wasn’t an act. His biopic tells us he was mischievous throughout high school, rebelling against his Catholic upbringing and the constraints of his small town.

His smile set him apart from the rest, with pretty straight natural teeth.

However, fame was a bit much for the ‘Angels’ singer, who relied on drink and drugs to deal with the stress that was put on him.

This doesn’t exactly do wonders for your teeth, or general oral health - just like if you were to overindulge on Candy.

Both alcohol and drug consumption can cause severe dry mouth, leading to cavities, enamel erosion, and even tooth loss. It can also lead to gum problems, teeth grinding, clenching and related jaw pain.

Robbie has since admitted he is a serial jaw-clencher. This leads to unnecessary stress on the jaw, putting pressure on the teeth and gums, further wearing away enamel.

The journey to becoming a Better Man

Robbie lived with these teeth for many years.

He also came clean on his nail-biting habits, nibbling them down to stubs in stressful periods. This habit can cause teeth-grinding, gum disease, and cause problems with bite and sensitivity.

But when his biopic was approaching its release date, he decided it was time for a change for all the press interviews he was about to sign up for.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight he spoke excitedly about his Golden Globes nomination with his wife Ayda Field. He admitted to getting brand new teeth, describing them as “American teeth and not the British yellow nubs that I used to have” - he really is a movie star now.

If you put your trust in the wrong hands, you could end up with bulky-looking veneers that don’t fit naturally in your mouth. Clearly, this is something that Robbie was conscious of, as when he was featured as a guest on the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen show, he described them as “not too much”, seeming pleased with his transformed yet natural-looking new smile.

Now his radiant smile is Back For Good - as long as he doesn’t indulge in his current espresso addiction too often.
